@Folly's place , So if you saw roundworms in poop you would not treat?

I very rarely see them in my flock either, but also would treat. If you were to use Safeguard, would you do a follow up treatment in 10-14 days?So far I haven't ever seen any. Probably I would treat the flock, though. I'd want to know if it was a significant problem for more birds, or one bird who had issues.
Ask me about mites! Right now, another episode! Mary
Fenbedazole is approved for use in meat birds in the US, but not in egg layers. Fenbendazole is approved for egg layers in the UK with zero day withdrawal. For some reason (that totally escapes me!) fenbendazole is not approved for chickens in the USA, but hygromycinB is fine. Why, I have no idea. I might use the approved drug rather than fenbendazole. Maybe. Mary
I did poke it, not sure it was a round worm but definitely a worm. Next time I will get it tested before starting meds. In the 2 weeks since I wormed them their poop has gotten almost back to normal. I don’t think I’ll worm again with the safe-guard and see how it goes. Thanks everyone!
