hi I have just invested in 3 chickens after reading on here i decided to worm them to be safe, I am using flubrvent 1% which states I dont have to wait to eat the eggs, although after reading some peoples comments i thought it was await? does any1 know if that is just for other worming products?

Thanks Dawg, I've noticed you prefer Ivomec -correct? Am I correct thinking that Iver On Ivermectin and Ivomec pour on are basically the same product? I dont want to kill my hens but I've just used Wazine on them and want to follow up with something that'll take care of everything. I believe the dosage I've found on here is 1/2 ml per bird on their skin on their back?

I do NOT prefer ivomec products. My wormers of choice are valbazen and safeguard.

LOL, not a problem and you're right...our soil and climate are the same. I use valbazen and safeguard for rotation purposes. Ivomec products wont kill certain species of worms, whereas valbazen does. Safeguard kills most worms, except tapeworms. Both valbazen and safeguard are given orally, that way you KNOW they've been properly wormed and no guesswork about it.

Where can I get some valbazen? I tried the local feed store - no luck. Are tapes common? Because I'm sure I can get safeguard at TSC.. I have a couple hens who seem to be losing weight.. they're still laying though. I just dont want to find a problem before its too late.
