Worms??? Please HELP!!!

It has already been pointed out that you would only need to treat the bird who passed the dropping with tapes. Tapeworms are spread by an intermediate host, such as earthworms, snails, slugs, flies, grasshoppers, and beetles, so removing those intermediate hosts will help a lot to control tapeworms once the chicken or chickens are treated.

This is good stuff to know! :D But ... how will I ever remember it all?

I'll check below the roosts in the morning for droppings with tapes in them. I'm ordering some equimax, I'll just have to check the dosage. :hugsMuch thanks to you & @dawg53 for your help.

I know, right!?!?:barnie

How easy is it going to be to treat 70+? Or do I just guess who to treat and watch under the roosts for the droppings, since everyone tends to roost in the same place each night?View attachment 1956496
You can always treat the four that were near you when you found the first one and then monitor. :hugs I know, it's always something, lol.

Diatomaceous Earth, it will cut up any parasites but will be no harm to your chickens! Just put some in their water or food. A bag costs about $8 + depending on the size.
This was a not true.
DE will not treat tapeworms or any other type of worm.

@Eggcessive posted the dosage in post #4. When I treated my birds for tapes, I caged the infected ones and put a dab of paste on my finger and forced open the beak, then smeared the paste inside the mouth on the side of the birds beak, the bird had no choice but to swallow the paste.
I tried putting it on a small piece of bread, some birds would eat it, others wouldnt touch it. Other birds that were already dosed would run up and steal the treated bread and were doubled dosed. Fortunately they were okay afterwards.
Here's a couple of pics of some caged birds I was treating for tapeworms.
