Worms?

The vet that suggested the calcium supplement...did he test for worms at that time?

Are they getting a lot of greens. I am lead to believe that spinach/kale etc can prevent absorption of calcium. I regularly feed mine perpetual spinach with no egg shell issues, but some people are quite insistent that it can cause a problem.

I've fed my girls (4 BOs) Romaine lettuce leaves (est 4 - 6) every day, never had an issue with their egg shells. I do ferment Flock Raiser, they get grit & Oyster Shells on is separate dishes and some BOSS scattered at close up.

Thought Kale was "good" for them? Guess everything in moderation is ok? Always learning and loving it :) Thank you

Also, birds fed too much BOSS; when the seeds break down for digestion, the oil is released into the digestive track coating the intestinal lining and preventing absorption of nutrients.
I'm not saying not to feed BOSS or any of the veggies mentioned in these links. Moderation is key when it comes to chickens.
