I am starting to think that one of our Barred Rock hens, is actually a Barred Rock 'roo. Sadly, it is my favorite chick of the bunch, as they will often come and sit on my arm/should and hang out.

What are your thoughts? They are six weeks old and I am thinking that the chick on the left is a male. It is much larger in size, and it's tail feathers look a bit more perky. It is lighter.....but doesn't have a bigger crest when compared to the other, and it's feet do not show a noticeable color difference.

the color you're seeing is normal hatchery stock variation. A male would be much lighter overall, and at this age you'd be seeing a red comb and wattles.
