Worried!!!

Do they have food out all day?

Yes. Always. I'm at the beach until Sunday my husband keeps trying to get them, but they don't listen to him anyway... so I've got my neighbor checking on them all day & my husband is checking on them at night & before he goes to work. Sunday when I get home I may just have to go in the pond... I can't stand it much more. I'm a hottmess.

Well everybody... look who decided to come home this afternoon. They were home & in their pin when I got home from the beach- Thank God. They are completely aware they are grounded- & mad about it. Flossy has a extra full crop where she apparently pigged out. I feel completely at ease for the first time in 5 days. Thank y'all so much for helping me calm down & giving me advice. I am SO glad I decided to join BYC!!!!

Glad to know they are safe and sound!

Good to have you! We always need more duck people to help stop those crazy chicken keepers

The reason I ask, is because if you feed them only before being penned in for the night they will be more likely to start coming when you call them. Mine free range all day in and on our pond but come running when they see me with the pink bucket of food. Just a suggestion but maybe worth a try to feed at night and see if the come in easier.

That probably will work. I used to have a hard time getting everyone in the house at night until I started feeding them in the house. Now I've weaned them off because food will mess up the winter deep litter, but they are still good about going in
