Complete opposite in my corner
That’s the best thing there are so many breeds and varieties of chickens, something for everybody.
For me, my preference is single combed, clean legged, breeds like Barred Rock, Buff Orpington, Black Australorp etc.
I am going to get a few rose comb Dominiques in my upcoming order though.

Yeah, that’d be interesting! I tried looking it up but couldn’t find anything quickly.
Note this is only for the birds supplied by Welp, and it's an average.

Very interesting. I read that a Delaware consumes twice as much food as a broiler to reach the same weight.
That said, I think I’ll stick to my Delawares for broilers. They were so chubby before! Now they are so skinny! Like bones with feathers. Silly adolescents. They’ll fill out soon enough.
When we butcher, I want to prepare one special to make an articulated skeleton. That is impossible with Cornish cross because their skeletons are immature and when they do mature, they’re messed up.

I've thought about doing resin skeleton blocks of my chicks that don't make it. I just haven't bothered to see what all I have to do to keep them from being ruined in the resin

Do you think Murrey Mcmurrey would be a good place to get some with a low chance of valuted skull? Thank you for your time and information.

I don't think they focus on that. When you get chicks at the feed store, you can usually tell which ones have a vaulted skull, and I usually point them out specifically when I'm asking for chicks. I suppose you could always ask them if you call, I'm not sure it would do any help though since they're just riding to get everything sent out asap

I have no idea. I haven't largely been impressed with what I've seen of their Houdans, though.

I started my flock with a big order from Cackle a number of years back. We found a few good birds out of that batch and have progressed with them quite quickly.
