Would Anyone Support This?

Heta,
It's your eggs, your chicks..... do whatever you want with them.

Personally, I see nothing wrong with experiments. They can be fun. Some experiments fail, some succeed.

Thank you for your support. I love my birds very much and honestly, we wouldn't have incubators or anything like that today if people didn't test things. I hope people would understand that it isn't just a "i'll stick this here and see what happens" but a if it works that's awesome! if I notice trouble, I'll revert to old methods. It's no different to me than setting a first time broody. Who knows? Half way through she may get off.

I would start them tonight but wouldn't count today as they get up to temperature. Monday would be the first "day" and I'd check for darkening of the yolk and development a few days later. I candled them already to test them they seem good.

I'd learned to sleep while snuggling chicks (the chick in my profile is rather demanding. ) so I doubt I'll break the eggs while I sleep. I actually carried her in there when she just hatched since she was really weak and she stayed very warm.

Heta,
I think you should go ahead with it. Progress and inovation doesn't happen by people doing nothing. I remember the chick hatching project in grade 5 not all chicks hatched, even when folks here set eggs they don't always all hatch for a variety of reasons. So your bra-bator is just a different methode of hatching eggs. I'd be interested in hearing about your progess. I'm such a clutz/accident prone that attempting this would be near impossible lol.

I think if it's something you want to do, go for it.
I'm not really into hatching, but would find it interesting.

Imp- nothing ventured, nothing gained

The whole thing is absurd. Just fry the darn eggs. At least then your'll have a decent breakfast, even if you won't be able to post about it.

eta: and being told to chill and then reading your signature is really a bit of a two face

Name calling is not necessary, my friend, and I forgive you.

Thanks :D
yeah! Definitely.

I learned a lot of patience and careful stepping (and sleeping!) with my current chicks. My dear little Aiko wants to go with me everywhere and for the first 3 weeks (if not more) of her life I kept her with me at all times. …tough sleeping with a chick in a towel…. fortunately for me she now has a buddy roo who apparently got tired of his hen mom adopted me.

…thank goodness she hatched in my semester break!

Anyways I'll upload the pics now.

> > also I know I'm better off eating them than getting chicks but that's no good. Plus I have my hen's infertile eggs for that ^^; Didn't stop her from trying to hatch them though,
