Would hens be happier with mates or in their familiar home

Greetings:
I have 2 midget white hens. Sadly, I had the tom put down this week so they are without a mate. He had an injury--not disease. The older hen (5 yrs old?) keeps squatting near me to mate. I feel badly that I can't help her. I know of a good home that will take the hens. There are lots of toms there.
My question is: would the hens be happier in a place with toms or would moving them be more traumatic? I am assuming someone here knows the mind of a turkey. I sure don't.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
As long as your hens have each other they will be fine. If you lose one of the hens then it would be appropriate to get the remaining hen a new companion.

R2elk is right! I have a convent here for my turkey & chicken hens. All are just fine & loving life!

I'm hanging around her to see Kathy post turkey porn!! I've seen the peaporn!! LOL!

Now I wish I had video taped the tom who was madly in love with me. He would spent a lot of time circling my feet to see if there was a "way". He never gave up poor guy until the end. That should have been my alert that he was failing. He HATED all men as they were competition to his harem of which I was one.
The 2 hens that are left still present to me and any male that comes along. So sad. Memphis, I guess they don't miss what they never had.
