Hi all,
I've just been reading through the breed identification forum, mostly just to look at pictures because I'm getting so impatient about our own. On an older thread, someone mentioned that Ameraucanas are never colourful, and that someone's hen or rooster they had posted was actually an Easter Egger. I have searched the archives somewhat to try and find the answer to my question, but I'm more confused now.
We've ordered Ameraucanas from a local breeder, and she told me that "the Ameraucanas are a coloured flock, not a show line" and also that "Ameraucanas are sometimes all one colour (especially if they are show birds) so they might come in white, black, blue , wheaton, etc. Mine are not used for showing so they are in many different colours which I love for looking at. " She also said they all lay blue eggs. I don't really care either way, I prefer the more colourful ones too, so mostly just curious. Is it something I would have to wait until I get them to know for sure?
Thanks!
