Would this work for a brooder?? pics

I use water bottles like that for my chicks, now 10 weeks old (still inside until I finish the coop). They work fine. I showed the first couple how to use it - put their beaks to the nipple. The rest worked it out by example. I also have them in a wire dog crate (now extended) which meant it was easy to move the water bottle higher as they got taller. I have three 1 litre bottles for 9 chicks because if I got stuck at work too long they emptied two.

Thank you much....I'm very excited..worked on the coop this PM...all I have to do is make the nest boxes, dig the trench for the apron/skirt, put hard w cloth on 1 side and 1 end..and put up a roost......oh men...is more than I thought! lol

LoL I have been following your coop construction the chickiebabies will LOVE their new home!! They are so much fun!!! wht are you going to use for a roost?

In here I'm probably going to use a tree branch from 1/2" to 1" depending what I can find. I just trimmed my trees last weekend, everything is still in the backyard waiting for it to dry some more to cut for lumber...so I'll have options.

It looks like the water bottle is a go...I'm still going to provide another option initially...juts in case

Haha ok, just banded the youngest chicks and they are all in one brooder together now. Green leg band will be your OE, orange will be the EE. I do have the 1 Marans chick available so she is yours as well.
