Would YOU vote to change something that wasn't concerning your city?

Quote:
If it's an official election, yes. In this particular case, it's an opinion poll and the "voting site" is the newspaper.

If the poll is just for entertainment then why not vote but if it is used to dictate policy on citizens then It is none of my business if it is not in my town or effect me personally. I do see the other side though but I was raised differently.

I will not sign petitions and such for communities other than my own. The residents of that area should choose their own rules and regulations. This was just a newspaper poll though. It will simply raise awareness and give the OP and other "chicken people" an opportunity to present their case.

I voted.

In Oregon we have a very large gap in the urban rural divide. The city folks in the Portland metro area vote in laws that are of no relevance to the city people like dealing with predators or fencing in cattle. The rural communities have no say when Portland spends 7 million bucks a mile for light rail that they most likely will never ride( less than 2% of the population use it) and yet are expected to fund it. Most country folks have hard feelings over these issues and really want to be left alone. There is no easy answer really.
