I wanted to add an update in case my experience helps someone else who has the same or similar issue. Its been roughly a month now since my hen mysteriously came up with a wounded leg. I kept her confined for the time and treated her for worms and leg mites. I still have no idea what actually happened but I will tell she started out hobble walking and using her wings to move instead of the hurt leg, which tired her out very fast understandably. She now can walk without using her wings and she is slow and hobbles slightly still with that leg and isn't able to use her feet to scratch.But she is walking around now none the less and we will take that! She never chose to give up, maybe because i took her out many times a day and I was her legs for her scraping back dirt, moving logs to find bugs and I learned how to be a darn good chicken in the process as well!! Over the last month I was giving her 81mg aspirin daily. The first 2 weeks I gave her 2 81mg twice a day(she is a big hen) and the last 2 weeks I dropped back to 2 81mg just in the morning. When she started coming to the door on her own wanting out i slowly dropped the aspirin back more to where now she gets none and is doing fine with her hobble slow walk. Watching the last few days I have noticed my Roo, being young and horny, seems to like her the most and since he is a Bantam when he mounts her he actually stand on her back legs while doing his deed, I think he may have hurt her legs by doing this so often. That's just my opinion of course but since i keep him away from her she has been much happier!! So overall I still only let her out when I am there to keep an eye on her so the roo leaves her alone and so the ducks don't aggravate, they are quite the butthole to chickens who cant run away and try to lay on them and squish them! The slow hen still has a lot to herself at night but I bring her out daily to visit everyone else and she has a fenced yard to find all the bugs and grass she wants, My special needs girl is doing great with mamas continued help.
