I will make you a picture with words as best I can. 3 chickies so far. 53 eggs still sleeping.

Bottom shelf. there are 3 olive eggs and 5 cream colored mottled java eggs.
2 mottled javas have pipped, one has a little bit bigger hole than the other, but not yet zipping. They are taking naps.
2 Olive eggs have hatched and I have wet floppy babies. They keep falling over on their backs, legs stretch out in a tiny little spread eagle .... rest rest rest, chirp chirp chirp, flop flop, rest rest, chirp chirp, flip... oh hey, I'm upright again, how did that happen? oops, chirp, chirp chirp... I'm on my back, dang it.
They are black down, one is a tad lighter, so maybe a dark grey, looks like some yellow on her belly. Just baby colors.

middle shelf... zzzzzzzzzzz, nothing happening

top shelf. There are dark BCM eggs and 3 blue ameraucana eggs. 1 of the BCMs hatched earlier today. She now looks like a big fat fluffy unhappy, lonely chick. She is black with creamy underside. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, chirp chirp chirp chirp, flop to window hi momma, chirp chirp, let me out of here, chirp chirp, zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Edited to add:

Do all of yours hatch out lavender? I had a hatch of 16, and it included 2 or 3 blacks, and 1 very very light yellow mottled. Do you get that with yours?

Not all my orp eggs hatch lavender. I only have one lavender hen. The other three are unknown split blacks. Since this was the "extreme half dozen" I made sure her lav orp were actually lav x lav, to be the most extreme eggs possible that I had to offer. I have five little lave chicks hatched already from her, plus a couple of blacks. I have not been studious enough to write down who lays what with the other eggs. I THINK the one with a yellow zip tie lays the satin finish even toned flesh colored egg and is split to lavender. The other two, not sure who is laying what, or which egg hatches what. One of the other eggs is larger and tends to be porous finish, but they hatch. The other one I don't really know what she lays. Someon laid an egg that landed in their water bucket the other day and broke, fouled their water, yuk. Was probably the one I don't know what she lays... If she don't smarten up some and use the nest box soon.... all I'm saying is, I could use a nice bowl of chicken noodle soup, and not Campbell's either...

Good Morning! It's hatch day!
The early birds that have already hatched:

top shelf: 3 BCM babies, 1 BCM pip and 1 Ameraucana pip, Lonely baby is lonely no more

in the brinsea: LOPs not doing anything, 1 Bev Davis Marans egg has hatched, 2 BCM pips

Edited to show 11 babies have hatched so far!!

So what am I going to do with all these chickies?
I need to set up a couple more brooders... need a couple more warming lights
need more space to put all the brooders

need some foster moms

need some sanity

mark your babies with food coloring, toss them all in one big box. Two lights to sit under, a couple feeders and put some chick starter in the blender and grind it up fine and put a thin layer over the whole floor, which you have studiously covered with several layers of newspaper and topped with paper towels so they can grip and stand. That should hold them for a week at least with daily paper roll ups and tosses. Big box needed though for 55 chicks...
