My disabled old hen Dixie crowed one morning.

She spends a lot of time inside the house. She has a large bin inside we call her apartment. It sits by a window so she can watch the wild birds and deer in the yard. She will often talk to them.

One morning as the sun was coming up I opened the blinds. She looked out the window stood up and let out a full very loud crow! She had never done this before and hasn't done it again.

It was a perfect crow. I don't know when she perfected her technique??

There were no roosters inside announcing the arrival of the sun so I guess she felt the need to do so.

Momma's is very unique but random and rare so it's hard to catch on video. I'll keep trying tho, as it's comical when I hear it.

Cream Legbars lay blue eggs.

Black Copper Marans Rooster over a Cream Legbar hen gives nice sex-linked hens that lay lovely green/olive eggs.

Cute black pullets often with crests
Barred cockerals

Marsbar... Yes I've heard of them but never dug deep into them too much further than the cross.

I didn't know they had been given a name.

I did that cross several years ago. I got 4 cockerels and 2 pullets. The girls have passed on now. I was able to rehome those boys. They were handsome.
One had a lot of copper and black/white barring.

Do you have any pictures of them?
I'm pretty sure @Bantambird has Legbars but if I get the chance to get another dozen eggs I want all BBS Silvers.

Priorities first !!
