And to add to this... Marans obsessed members like myself here on BYC have our very own Marans thread located in the link below that's full of knowledge and great members/breeders that are always willing to help with all our Marans questions.Just an added fyi for you in case you didn't know....
The Marans breed and eggs are graded thru the APA (American Poultry Association) and follow the French SOP (Standard Of Perfection). The French Standard calls for feathered legs down the outside of the leg and outer toe only, which from what I can tell your girl does. So she would be considered an FBCM (French Black Copper Marans). Most US breeders drop the F and just call them BCM's because it's a given they must be French Standard.
This is the color chart for their eggs that I and many breeders use to breed towards getting darker eggs.
