Wrath's Marans

I agree chicks don’t take much space. You can stick them anywhere and build new housing while they grow. If you start with eggs you get a whole extra 3 weeks to build.
Bingo!!

Re-enfored enabling thru structured suggestions. It's all about helping our fellow chicken keepers towards overcrowding issues. 👍

Yeah! Someone, not naming any names (@wrathsfarm  is partially the reason I have 2 incubators running right now:idunno😂

Your birds are gorgeous! I absolutely love the dark eggs. Do you ever sell any for hatching? I wanted to get a few this year but hatchery birds are just so sub-par.
Thanks for the compliment... I do sell but only local to Michigan at the moment. I'm working on getting my NPIP this year to start shipping.

There is an uptick in people contacting me this year for poultry, for sure, compared to last year. I still get an alarming number of people that look at my site and still ask if I have Black Copper, even though I only have the Silver variant, and then they only want the popular Copper Marans. Oh well! I have started hatching, however the weather has got me bummed. 2 weeks of below zero weather is hard on me! I am lucky the old building the hatchery is in is so well insulated. It is an old brick house thats about 10 by 18 or something like that, but since the mortar had failed and it was collapsing outward, we encapsulated it with banding and scaffolding and then sprayed structural foam over the whole exterior, so it is the perfect little hatchery building. It isn't mouse proof though.........

I still like the old shack. We wired power to it and everything! So it holds heat so even though it will hit -24 on Monday ( again :( ) it stays 65 in there.

I can ship eggs, but I don't really want to ship chicks. I won't be able to ship anything until this weather relents! Not even set to get above freezing until the end of next week!
