Wrath's Marans

It must be that time of year for broodys. My Jersey Gena has that look in her eye again. She hasn’t fully committed but she is only 2 years old and this will be her 8th time broody so I have gotten pretty good at noticing the early signs. I can’t check her belly for a broody patch because she never grew her feathers back in since her last broody in January. I fully expect to find her in a nest box tonight when I get home from work.
She's got the bare belly, but....
She just layed an egg at 1:30, long time lounger since before dark last night.

Watching to see what she does now.. the plot thickens.

I have an Orpington that has a bare belly but continues to lay eggs. She takes forever and hangs out for an hour or two after but always goes up to roost at sunset. It’s like she feels the urge but not strong enough to go full broody. She is still technically a pullet only 10 months old

I added a couple eggs to her golf ball a couple hours ago. She's nestled down still at this hour in the For Sale box...🙂

I have no first hand experience with the nurture right 360 incubator but wow that’s way off. I would expect it to be a lot closer given it’s selling price and generally god reviews.
I got it for free so there's that. But if you remember my inexperience with that first hatch running it without any external monitoring made it a complete fail. I actually had it dialed in pretty decent using the analog meat thermometer last year getting a decent last hatch from the pullets eggs, but I thought the humidity was dead on but it's off also.
I was running incubator at 30/50 humidity but these Govees are saying it was actually low also.. luckily I was dry hatching Marans eggs and humidity isn't as critical as temp.
Yep, mine was spot on the first year, after that way off. I used it as a hatcher for my last hatch and was getting wild temperature swings. I ended up chucking it afterwards.
I'm hearing this alot that they get very good reviews out of the box but others that's had them for a period say they go wonky.

I got lucky and caught the 3 pack wifi Govees on sale for 55 from 70 normal price. The 3 pk blue tooth were 40 so the warden let me splurge. 🙂

I've got 3 of them too, they are great little gadgets! That's how I new my NR360 was freaking out with the last hatch, I thought for sure it would be terrible (temps going from 98.6 to 101.2) but it ended up being ok. After that I said enough is enough, I can't trust this damn thing, lol.
I got it for free so there's that.
That was a score!
