Writing goals

That's awesome!!! Maybe I should just follow your lead šŸ˜† . I just feel like when I go back to add stuff it doesn't flow.... it's like you can where I really had to try to add random stuff lol
I struggle with writing a lot. I found I'm getting more enjoyment with it and being able to commit to it for much longer when I get rid of "rules" that get me stuck. I don't want to be fussing over chapter lengths right now.
It breaks up into "parts", which are basically scenes I guess, but these aren't fixed lengths and maybe later on I will arrange them into chapters, that's the last thing on my mind though.

That's good advice. I definitely get too caught up in making it all perfect but I know that's not how it works and I need to concern myself with that when I edit. That's great you're enjoying it! I hate adhering to dead-lines and such, it takes all the fun out of it.

It probably took me longer than it should've to understand that a first draft is exactly that, a draft. You can go back and edit as much and for as long as you want but if you never actually write down what's originally in your head then you're going to get nowhere.
I write for myself and myself only... which I know tends to be different to what many people go into writing with but my story is pretty personal at times so I'm not writing to meet anyone else's expectations.

Yesss, you're very wise and it's helpful to hear it from someone else. My Mom tries to add my creative writing into my school work a lot of the time which honestly kinda stinks because I always feel insecure about her reading it. I wish no one saw it until I was done lol.

I also wanted to ask, how do you guys pick such awesome titles for your books??! I find it so difficult šŸ˜† . Right now I just think of one word to describe my character and pick a name that means that and use the adjective as the title lol. Like for instance the story I'm working on is currently called Brave because that's what my main character's name means (his name is Yong).
I don't. I try coming up with a title that fits the story and go with that, but they don't always fit. I'm actually thinking of asking someone to help me figure out title for my book series and a few of the books in it.

Then there's times the title just hits me, like on my story, The Worst Sci-Fi. Once the story started taking on a Sci-fi sort of feel, that title hit me and stuck because it fit so well.
That's hilarious 😭 ! It's legit the most challenging part for me lol
Same!

That makes sense. I do ask my family a lot for name ideas, that's a great idea lol!! I'm sure she'll come up with smt great. Oooh that's a cool name, I really like it. Maybe I just need to wait until it's finished then pick something out, like maybe I'm just rushing it 😌

I've genuinely got nothing on mine so far 😭 I wonder if there'll ever be something that fits honestly....

There may have been stories that I waited until I was in further before I picked a name. This book series, I've already played it all the way through (I'm a bit of an outliner), and it still doesn't have an official title. I did have a title for it when I first tried writing book one (book one's title is staying), but it sounds... generic. I want something that's unique, and if people try looking it up anywhere, they find it immediately.

Be funny if your Doc title sticks (that is, if it's not too long or something).
