Writing goals

Maybe it's just because I'm move familiar with animals than people? Or at least have written them more? Those are definitely wonderful examples. I need to work more with people and get more comfortable with writing them. 😭

On those though, the clenched jaw is a bit repetitive for me. Jintao seems to always be doing it, and nothing else. šŸ˜¶ā€šŸŒ«ļø
I don’t tend to use the jaw clenching often I think? Arne did it twice that I can find in WSS

It’s cuz I saw a film reactor count all the times captain America did it in a movie and it made me realize how overused it can be

Usually tho I just like to be aware of the way I experience emotions? Life in general.
Like the way blood feels while I’m butchering or the way bruised ribs feel or the way frost bite starts to set in or whatever
And then I just make a mental note

The ā€œcollecting real-life experiences for writingā€ is valid. This week I’ve been really sick with a fever, which on one hand is terrible, but on the other hand…I know how to write this now. All I need to do now is fall out of a second-story window, get a concussion, break a few ribs, and make a deal with an eldritch entity. Then I’ll be the best writer ever .

We're about month into the new year now, how's everyone doing? šŸ™ƒ
Printed out my first draft— which is crazy, by the way. What do you mean I can pick it up? What do you mean I can flip through the pages?
And it’s thick, too!

As of yet I’ve been giving my brain a week to percolate before picking up editing. Doing great deals of precursory historical research.

Ooh, Isa, you’ll be interested— I’m doing research on introducing dialectal and class distinctions in dialogue. Super excited.
:pop
it’s so fun to make a human mad

Jaws tightening, cheeks burning, rapid blinking, pulse in ears, pulse in fists, biting onto the inside of your cheek, Stuttered speech, heavy breathing.

And then when I try animals it’s like…he growled…aawwww man he was sssoo angry…his fur stood up…uh…yeah…
This is killing me, it’s so true. 😭

I can’t wait to do that to mine 😭
Cuz like I forget what I write so easily so it’ll be a interesting experience to happen upon and react to everything I didn’t know happened at one point

ā€œI’m not saying I *want* my soul torn out…buuuutā€¦ā€

The only time I’ve ever had a headache it lasted like 72 hours, I couldn’t move my neck or eyes or anything without it being so bad that I’d black out, and I ruined my sleep schedule because I tried to sleep it off until I physically couldn’t sleep anymore.
There was probably something going on with my brain stem or whatever, but it was perfect for the ailments I give my characters and it never came back so that was a win I guess
