Wry Neck - Confused about treatment

Pics
Also, today I noticed that when I pick her up to re position her, she drops her head forward but down and its twisted like she's looking up at the sky. But she swings it back up over her back when settle her. Not sure why it swings so forward????
So she is no longer holding her head on her back?? it's going to the ground in front of her?? If so that's a good sign.

I just made up your liquid diet Lacrystol- and I'm in shock as I think you were right about her head being twisted to the right! Cause now she is twisting it to the front going that way
smile.png
wow I feel slack that I've been holding the food etc to the left. BUT now when it's at the front ( correct way/ position) the feathers on the left side of her neck stick out a little giving the appearance their is a bugs their, but when I FEEL the neck bones it feels correct.. Could the feathers sticking out just be because her head WAS twisted that way??? Sorry I know I've added a lot this afternoon to this post- but. Really need the advice as I'm kinda just guessing lol.. But the fact her head to to the front is god right?? I'm still worried about her legs though and her nt being able to stand. It's like her feet come to far forward now and she crosses them not allowing herself to put pressure on them. I'm constantly tucking them back underneath of her but she pushes them forward
sad.png

Also where are you from? I'm in Australia and notice its usually hours before you reply

What do you mean by: apearance their is a bugs their?? Does she have bugs? Mites/Lice or anything?

Feathers sticking out is just because she's not feeling good. I'm thinking perhaps she is puffing them out.. When a chicken gets sick that's one sign. Does that sound about right?

If her head is going forward that's a GREAT SIGN, you can add some Vitamin B Complete with the Liquid diet mixture for now but I think once she overcomes this and has her head upright the strength of her legs will improve.

Legs going to far in front of her almost sounds like Mareks and she crosses them? Strange. because I don't think they cross there legs if they have mereks but then again it could be.. HUmm that's a little bizzar, Does it look like she maybe doing the Split? One leg in front the other leg towards the back of her?

I'm in OHIO and sometimes I get an email saying I have a replied message and sometimes I don't get one. SO the delay could be because of me, but I will check the site to see if there's any responses..

Thank you for all the advice- I ment bulge NOT bugs- sorry.. And she isn't doing the splits, both legs just come to far ward for her to balance. Yes her head is going down to the ground in front, but she does swing it so her beak is resting on her right wing. It looks like she's looking sideways now not straight behind her. I think that's a good sign? No her eyes are clear- she seems to be very very sleepy. She's still not eating enough to full her crop though :( the little bit she's eating is helping her though- I just hope as she gets better her appetite will come back too?
The only difference in her is her head position. She is still weak, and can't stand. If I take towels away she ends up on her side... Ill keep doing what I'm doing.
If her head is coming forward and hanging low how long will it take to get it back where it should be?

More god news tonight, tonight is the first time I have been able to feel her crop. :) she are well this afternoon & tonight & I can actually feel her crop bulge :) she is still so terribly weak & has lost a lot of weight.. Is there a food that can help increase weight fast? Or just keep with what I'm doing & as she gets stronger her weight will get better?

She seems to eat better of a night, is this normal? And I found a bit of blood in the cage so I'm thinking your right and it could be something other than wry neck, maybe cocci?? If its cocci is it treatable? I have now given her some Baycox and will continue that for the next 3 days then again in 10. Is this right?? And ifbitbis cocci would her neck still twist? Or maybe she has both?? I'm just guessing, but she's still alive so ill keep trying :)

Yeh Blood is not a sign of wry neck, and yes it's possible to have both. POOR THING... I wouldn't worry about her getting food just yet, keep the liquid diet going until she can get that head up on her own. Once she gets her head up then you can slowly introduce her back to food. I would start off with soaking the food but don't give her a whole lot just a little bit at a time. perhaps soak it with the liquid diet receipe this way you know she's still getting her vitamins..

For Cocci, do you have any sulmet or Corid? Use this to treat it...

Sleepiness in a chick is another sign "Im sick". Poor thing hope she pulls through,,,

Wow I haven't heard of Baycox but I just read about it, looks like this stuff kills cocci with one shot. Great. If you gave her some how she doing today???

She's still alive :) I think she's doing slightly better- still hard to wake her up, but I'm getting the fluids in! It's very time consuming as she keeps falling asleep- BUT, for the last 2 mornings she is still up right in the morning when I go feed her. She use to be on her side as shed fallen over or pushed herself over. So that's better I think. She's holding her head to the side now but when I pick her up if I don't support her she will drop her head to the ground before flipping it back to her side.. She still can't stand on her own- & she's lost a lot of weight too. I'm still worried about her- but ill keep doing what I'm doing.
I also treated her with ivermectin today as I hadn't armed her ( stupid I know, just didn't think of it ) so now she's treated for cocci, mites, lice & worms & getting those extra vitamins plus her liquid diet. Her poo is very runny but I'm thinking that's normal considering she's only drinking.. I'm hopping now that I have treated everything I can think of she should either start improving more or die. It's been a week now and she's still with us- soooo I'm hoping its because of what I'm doing :)
Thank you so very much for all your advice and support. It's quiet scarey treating these symptoms on your own.
Also ill ate a new pic of her tomorrow to show you- but I think you'll see a difference. I see her every day so I'd like your opinion please. I know you've only seen 1 pic of her but I'm sure she looks better now. Here's to hoping :)

Wow good job, keep working with her, sounds like you are doing everything to help her and if what you are doing she can't pull through, you may have something else going on. But it sounds like she's slowly coming out of it.. The runny poop is probably from all the liquids, do you see anymore blood though? if not good.. You can try to give her a small amount of soft foods to see if she can eat that on her own but don't force it. How's her crop is it emptying each morning?

I found that sprinkling 7 dust on them helps with bugs as well getting it right under there wings exspecially She's falling asleep because she's not feeling well, if you think about it when your sick the only thing you want to do is stay in bed.

Feel her skin see if she feels hot like perhaps a fever. If so give her some baby asprin you can drop one in her liquid diet.. how's her breathing is she breathing heavy or does it seem normal? How's her vent looking? Are there any scabs or swelling? Does she look like she's losing any feathers anywhere? What about her comb is it pale, perhaps dehydrated, squeeze her comb and see if it stays white before going back to normal color if it stays white for a little while then slows goes back get more fluids in her..

I'm trying to think of other things it could be perhaps we can narrow this thing down. Her eyes what color are they do they look greyish? Silkies should have nice dark black or dark brown eye color. Hum that's about all I can think of right now. let me know on those things and perhaps I will come up with other questions to help narrow this down this problem...
