My baby just doesn't seem to be improving. It has been almost a week. Do I keep trying? Or is it cruel to let her suffer like this. It is hard to get her to take fluids without her taking some into her lungs. Her wound seems to be healing ok and her feathers are maturing and she does look like she is pooping a little. It is just so sad to see her like this. Is there anything else I can try? Is it possible that it could be something else? So far none of my others have come down with what ever this is. She keeps her eyes closed most of the time and she gets the typewriter head. Ideas?

I'm sorry. You did the best that you could for her so try not to be hard on yourself. She is in chicken heaven now and is as perfect as an angel. No more pain for her.

Thank you for your kind words. I keep trying to tell myself that she isn't suffering anymore. I put an egg from my first chicken that died earlier this week in the incubator so it appears that it is developing. I have that to look forward to.

I have a baby chick that has a crooked neck. I'm thinking wry neck, but it could also be an injury from shipping or at the feed store. She's growing, eating, and drinking, but she sleeps a lot. I started with the Poly w/o iron vitamns a few days ago, but I'm not seeing any improvement. I'm beginning to think that I'll have to cull if nature doesn't take it's course. She doesn't seem to be in pain.

If the treatment doesn't work, can she live like this? Advice, experiences, etc... all welcome

These pictures were taken a week ago - she still looks the same, but more feathers.

This is her standing - notice her neck turns to the left, right wing is lower than the left - she will stretch and flap her wings, so not broken.

She is not leaning in against my hand. I was trying to get her to stand still for the picture.

My 2week old chick just got this wry neck this morning. I feel terrible. The chick just hangs its head and tries to lift it but goes right back to hanging. I got the poly vit drops but they have iron as a stabilizer for the other ingredients the pharmacist said. Is this bad it has iron. Also I have no way to separate this chick from the others. Will this spread to the other chicks??? Someone please let me know asap!
