Wry neck?

I agree, just give the B and E together since there symptoms are very similar it wouldn't hurt to treat with both. I believe selenium is given to help absorb the vitamin E, but her symptoms look fairly mild so I don't think it will be needed, and as casportpony said it can easily be overdosed.

Get soft gel capsules containing around 400iu of E per cap.

Since wry neck is from vitamin defficency do i need to be worried about the nutrition of the rest of the flock? They are on a local duck ration, and i started putting durvet vitamins in their drinking water. I got 400 IU E capsules, i wish b complex came in pill form, that was easy!


Update
When I got the ducks I knew that some would have to get eaten because they are straight run so my wife and i decided that they would be "livestock" and we would not name them. Well my wife started calling the ducks all "he" when we were treating for bumble food but today she called the sick duck Donald i guess because it a generic male duck name. Well i told her it was more like a Daisy because it was not a drake. Well now look me and my big mouth just named our "livestock"

Daisy was inside in the house and she was calling the the rest of the flock and they were talking back. I figured i could put her back in gen-pop for the day. Well that was a mistake, when i gave the flock dinner she did not eat with them took only one sip of water. So i brought her back inside and put some chopped greens in the water to encourage her to drink and i found that if i held her food dish up she would eat. She was 2 lbs 14oz this morning so we will see if she lost weight today. Tomorrow i will set up look but don't touch housing so she can be with the 12 other Donalds.

Wry neck can be caused by a various amount of things, that are not nutritional related, it just seems to be most often caused by either a lack of thiamine or E. Whether the bird will be affected can depend on the amount of microflora in the birds gut and genetics, I would only treat the other birds if symptoms start to occur, personally.

2 lbs 10.5 oz this mornin, so down 3.5 oz from yesterday. She seems to eat and drink when i entice her so i will be doing that every few hours. If down again tomorrow i guess its time to start tube feeds?

They say to start tubing when a bird loses 5-10% of its bodyweight. Right now you're at a loss of 8.3%, so if it's down again tomorrow, yes, you should tube.

I'm going to go to a medical supply store today and see what i can get. Is there a formula to calculate how much feed to tube?
