Sorry to jump in here, but if someone could please explain about the eggs with the membership.... I can't find anything about it on their website

email and ask Rose her address is on there they have begun the site updates just aren't that far along yet -
tell her Shari sent ya - -
there is a new President and I can't speak about "past' but I knew no one and was awarded AOV Cock and Hen Champ and BV RV for my Blue Bantam faverolles : Mr and Mrs. Coon Bait. Where I have my difficulty is my birds are young and competing against way older more mature birds .

The shiping is coming out of the ten dollars and the idea is to increase membership and increase interest in the breed. They were aware of some issues and were working to correct them. I consider them more growing pains.

I joined this spring, and haven't gotten a thing, not an acknowledgment... nothing. I joined hoping to get access to the breeder list, and I didn't get even that. Later I even wrote offering to help them update the website, and no response.

I'm pretty unhappy with the whole thing, honestly.

Windy again I would email Rose and say that . It is a valid concern - I can only talk about my own experiance which
begins with I didn't hear anything either - so I emailed her she asked if I attend Nationals and told me I could get my patch there. Which I did and I was informed of the meeting.
the problems were explained . The exiting President had ill health and the new membership idea was explained. The newsletter being issued more frequently was also explained

Mthr email Rose and explain that .
I answered this post because the person was looking for Rose's stock, and I had just spent a day with her.

It seems the best way to get her stock is to talk to her-

I also know Christie I am first on your lay list - I did get two chicks at nationals so I am going to need maters

I was tempted on your Quail but had Jody's eggs lined up already --I also bought eggs from Alan along with getting two pairs of Blues from him .. I have to get my film devloped

Yes, Rose and Dick were the two I wrote to offering help with the site, and didn't get a response. I understand you're not responsible for the Fav Fanciers administration; I just add my experience here that--as much as I rave about the breed all over this board!--the club obviously has some issues, such that they wouldn't even move to accept volunteer work from a professional to help them get some things updated for free.

I've heard wonderful things about both Rose's and Dick's stock, but I don't think you have to be a member of the club to purchase their eggs. If you are a member (like me... at least I will technically be until this coming spring), it certainly doesn't seem to get you priority access... and--at least in my case--any access at all.

Here is Rose's website, her personal poultry site, not the Fav Fanciers site. If I wanted bantam Fav eggs, I'd just contact her directly and ask if she had any for shipping. If Dick has a personal site, I don't know about it. I'm sure they're very nice people, chicken lovers like all of us, but maybe only fair to poor (poor in my experience) breed association administrators. After all, who wants to be inside updating a web page or writing, editing and laying out a newsletter when you can be spending time with your Faverolles?

Again, I would just contact them directly for eggs and bypass the club. Their stock is wonderful.

I did e-mail Rose, but a few days after not hearing from her, I started this thread. A friend of mine also e-mailed her earlier this year (late spring/early summer) and never got any response, either. So I figured that Eggbid was the only way to get eggs from her. I got my pair from eggs I won on eBay from a gentleman I don't believe is a member here. He started off with Rose's stock and I don't believe he's crossed lines. I realize that my timing in writing Rose was probably REALLY bad - right before the Nationals - and maybe she was going to reply to me later. But I also know from personal experience that if you get a lot of e-mail, even if you intend to reply to one, it might get pushed so far up out of view that it'll just be "out of sight, out of mind" by the time you get a chance to sit down and get caught up on e-mail.

Anyway, I guess I'll just have to wait and see what comes of this. I'm still on the waiting list for Christie's Isgrigg eggs. There are probably several people ahead of me, too, so I might be waiting a while...

I have to agree with Windy Ridge here about the association...not even being on the breeders list either. So all of our complaints are valid and should not be taken lightly. I know Rose is a very busy person but at least take a day or two to answer any emails. Lately I have not gotten any response back from Rose or Dick like I used to.

As a friend breeder made a comment about the association....its sorta "cliche" going on...and I didnt believe it until I joined in, sure enough, any questions or comments you make on the Fav club, were either ignored or dismissed while the popular well known breeders communicate each other and ignored the newbies. That was part of the reason I didnt renew my subscription with them. Did it make me get out of the Fav breed, somewhat, it did and decided to fade out of my breeding stock of Favs and get seomthing else that everyone appreciate it. I do love my Favs tho and have only one bantam in my flock. There will always be a Fav in the lot but not as numberous I once had.

Its not to bad mouth about the association, like you said, growing pains....
