Oh, no, Shari - don't be sorry! It's all great information, and I'm really glad to hear that there's at least talk about action being taken to help better the club. I've seen first-hand how things can change drastically (for the better) just by ONE go-getter who's willing to initiate some key changes in a club. One thing I've learned is that people can suggest changes until they're blue in the face, but if their pushing gets them nowhere with the "powers that be," then they can start their own club! I guess I'm not passionate enough or knowledgeable enough to do this myself, but I'm very easily sold on ideas when they're coming from somebody with the passion and knowledge to carry it out. So if no progress is made with the club, I'm open to joining a "new" Faverolles club if somebody is willing to start one.
Like I've already stated, I think a centralized discussion forum would REALLY move things along, get information out there more efficiently and pull members together. Unfortunately, I have no idea how to design such a thing and it might be costly (I wouldn't know). Somebody will have to maintain the website, too. I'm not volunteering...
Christie, no worries! No rush (at least for me). Besides, it shouldn't be TOO long before my own pullet begins laying (she'll be five months mid-December but I doubt she's going to start until spring). But I don't think the cockerel knows about fertilizing the eggs
.
Anyway, I don't mind at all that this thread has taken this direction. I'm sure there are others out there that are wondering what the deal is with the Fav club. I think this discussion should have probably taken place a long time ago. People being turned off to the breed because they couldn't get questions answered through the club - that's a bad sign, and a sure one that things need to change.
