Hey, All!

I'm specifically looking for bantam salmon Faverolles hatching eggs from pure Rose Marie Isgrigg stock. My bantam EE hen just went broody so I'm hoping to get eggs ASAP. I'd be SO grateful!!! Even if you can only send like 6 eggs, I'll take them. Oh, and it's also okay if the oldest eggs are up to a week old (provided they weren't stored in the refrigerator or anything).

Please e-mail me if you think you could supply... Just remember that Monday is a Federal holiday so it'll be better if they're not sent until next Tuesday.

Thanks!!!

Naomi,
My hens have taken a little bit of a holiday. They are not laying real good right now. I will let you know as soon as they start to pick back up.

Thanks for the update, Christie! I realize that a lot of hens are slowing down for the winter. I was just hoping to get a few eggs while my hen was broody, but looks like she's going to try and hatch out newspaper again

. I was going to buy your eggs anyway when they were available. I have an incubator I could fill if the hen is already setting.

Okeedoke - I'm really looking forward to getting these eggs from you when they become available!

I spent Saturday with Rose - Have you considered
joining the Favorelle Fanciers Club - Rose is the Secretary and maintains the web page They are sending eggs with a new membership - It maybe worth your time ---

Hey, Shari!

Yes, I'd toyed with the idea of joining and visit the website a lot. But I've noticed that the site really hasn't been updated for what seems like a long time. Do they have a mailing list or discussion forum that you can subscribe to after you're a member? It would be nice to be able to discuss the breed than to just read about them.

Oh - I just checked the website now and saw that membership is only $10/yr.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll probably join. Did you go to the FFA Nationals?

I joined for one year.....disappointing I think! No newsletter and only had ONE e-newsletter from Rose which it was a good one but no more that year. Alot of emails coming from members asking about their birds, questions and show records...mostly ho hums..... So I didnt renew my membership this year because it was so disappointing.....not like the regular poultry clubs do.

She updates it from time to time we just had a meeting where the adding the eggs for the ten dollar membership was decided - I am joining my husband to get the eggs-

It was at the Ohio Nationals and it was the National Faverolle Fanciers National. It was the third show my Blue Salmon Faverolles have won BV and RV.

Ewesheep the club is making a few changes and I hope you'll consider rejoining- the ten is worth it just for the eggs - but a newsletter on a regualr basis was talked about - I hope you expressed your valid points to Rose. She and the new president are very open to ideas ---

Hey, Shari -

I just submitted the membership form and I'll send Mr. Boulanger a check first thing Tuesday. Gosh, they wouldn't be able to make any money if they're sending eggs for the measly $10. I hope we're expected to pay shipping, at least.

BTW, I only keep bantams. Are the eggs being offered bantams or standard? If it's only standard, I'll have to pass

. Who's supplying the eggs??? Boy, that's very generous of them! Or will they be from different members of the steering committee?

Anyway, thanks so much for the heads-up about the club. I hadn't joined because I wasn't sure if the club was even really active, still. It's hard to know without a sort of discussion forum or some way that all of the members can communicate on-line. I mean, in this day and age, most club treasuries have PayPal accounts so membership can be immediate. But maybe the club just needs more participation to get it going in that direction...

Okeedoke. Consider me a "new recruit"

Thanks! However I decided to phase out of Faverolles and Amercuana Bantams and only get a few for egg laying...no longer breeding and raising them anymore. I am now down to ONE bantam Faverolle and she's a sweetie.

If I was still into Favs, I would take another chance in re newing my membership but there was alot of favorism going on in that club particularly with a few certain breeders acting like well, if you dont have status, you're nothing and it does affect some newbies and as well as other Fav breeders that got the "flak" from them. Too much politics as well. Now with the new president, thing can change I hope! There is alot of things needed to be changed.

Good luck in your membership with the Faverolles. However Rose and Dick are two special people that I hold dear to because they treated me well and fairly as any other members.

Right now I am focusing on the Blue Orps and Hamburg Bantams for now. I will always have a little Fav in the flock, rightly so LOL and they are the sweetest birds you can ever ask for! If I am to get some hatching eggs I would just go to Christie's and ask for a couple doz.
