So, we went to a livestock auction yesterday to see what they had. Ended up buying several miscellaneous "pullets", but after opening up the cages, I realized that I think I got some roos too. What do you guys think their breeds (mixes) and genders are?
This lot was supposed to be RIR pullets. I think I see 3 RIR roos, and another roos that is maybe a mix?
some individual pics of the same birds...
Roos? I have 3 that look like this.
and I have this guy...
Pullets?
Then I have this girl....
Oh, and this weird velociraptor bird was crammed in with the reds. It's ugly and mean...to the other birds and to people. It wants nothing to do with being near you and will gladly peck you for coming close. Sorry about the crappy pics, but that thing was in a panic and would not calm down.
On to the cutie patooties...
I got this momma and baby. Momma is tiny, about the size of a dove.
and these two girls?
Here is the silver one (far right) compared to my 16 week old EEs. You can tell how tiny they are. The silver one is really quite friendly.
The last two girls...
They are both the darker coloring, but the sun washed out the coloring on the second bird. These two were in a lot with a gorgeous little roo. I wish I would have taken a picture of him before I gave him away. He plucked quite a few feathers out of the back of these girls necks
They are both very calm and docile with people, bossy with the other birds. They are really heavy for their size (like BRs), but they are only about the size of melons. They were also all banded, not that that means anything.
