WV Spring ChickenStock Sat. April 24 8-12 TSC Martinsburg

Sounds like everyone had a great time! I REALLY wanted to go, but I've got a couple of sickies here and it was just too far of a drive for myself. I get tired when I drive alone for long distances. I couldn't have gone anyway with them being sick, but I hope we can make it to the one in the fall.

Coronation sussex! Where on earth did you get your hands on those? I would love to get some from you some day but it would have to be when I come back in the US in 2.5 years.

You can bring back some Tanzinite to pay for them. Kelpie, is there a thread on the forum explaining why you are going to Africa for over 2 year?

I am looking for contact for the guy I bought my rabit from. He was the guy with the 3 male muscovy ducks in a cage in the back of his pickup truck and several other very tame rabits. The rabit was the most adorable male 'broken black' (black and white) velveteen lop. I just wanted to ask him a question.

Also, if anyone has a female velveteen lop they want to sell, let me know.

Tide

Just looked at MSBEAR's pics on page 22. In the third picture there is a blue pick up truck and you can see my rabbit in the cage on the right.

Believe me, I intend to come back dripping in gems!!!

My fiance (husband by then) has been assigned to the embassy there. It's so different from anything I ever thought I'd do, but Tanzania was our top choice and we just found out we got it.

Congrats, Kelpie How exciting!!! Get yourself a great camera and snap away.

Mr. FancyPlants!!!! OMG!!! I just opened the box this morning and I am in shock. For those of you that have ever ordered plants either online or through a catalog, you know the tiny, little sticks they send. Some just disappear from your garden! They just wither away

Well, that is not the case here. Not only were they bright green, healthy specimens, they were HUGE and they were ...THEY!!

I ordered 1 of each and he sent 2 X-Large eyes ea having root systems the size of my arm. And, the icing on the cake were these beautiful, small plaques with little metal stakes to place next to your lillies so you always remember the variety... WoW, I am very happy. Thanks, Mike

I had a great time! Sold every last chick/duckling I brought and went home with the back of my Durango stuffed with birdies

I picked up my little MF Cochin roo from Erin and got a Splash Orp and Lav Orp mix roo from Tammy, oh and some hatching eggs. I also went home with a Splash Marans and a little mystery colored Ameraucana (I think) chick from peachick, a Delaware from kryptoniteqhs, a Cuckoo Marans chick from the guy with tubs full of chicks and a little light blue barred or splash bantam Cochin from NurseKat, I think it was (not sure how she spells her id). I also traded some chicks and a Polish for 2 Silkie hens and a Cochin chick with CoCoNUT (Linda). Then we went into TSC and my daughter snatched up two Pekin ducklings (on sale for $2 each). So I sold 4 ducklings and came home with 2 lol.

I was a little down when I left because I thought I had messed up and took all my Splash Silkie chicks to the sale and they all sold within minutes (which was awesome). I was in a hurry and thought for sure I just grabbed all that was in the cage. But when I got home and was putting my new chicks in brooders, I saw that I had kept 2 Splash and 1 Blue Silkie chick, yay! Not like my hens won't keep laying & hatching, but you just never know. Chalk up yet another blonde moment lol

It was a great morning and no rain, well at least not until after we left! I loved meeting and chatting with everyone and I was only down $12 when I left the swap, can't beat that!!!

So when is the next one? lol

thanks Erin. I'd like to say you had special treatment, but that's not the case. That is what Mike (Mr Fancy Plants) will provide with every order. Those were dug fresh out of our field Friday, washed, prepped and packaged for delivery. The tags are something added with all orders. We've bought plants in the past for our home garden and known the headache of trying to remember what its is two or three years down the line lol.

Gosh. Wish I could have been there with you guys.

Really--is there going to be one in the fall? Any chance of it being slightly later in the day? I am going to have to leave at what seems like the middle of the night.

But I should have stuff for a fall Chickenstock.

I borrowed Christopher's iPhone so I could talk to you guys. I had a wonderful time yesterday. We were basically sold out by 9:30! Brb
