i like the suggestion to drop them off a couple counties over. in our county if y our dog is at the pound you have to pay a fine and show up with shot records to get the dogs back. however they might just get new dogs. if they do, call animal control or the sherriff about poor living conditions for the dogs. they have to have 1, shelter, 2 water and 3 food at all times if they are outside (least here they do)

Call animal control, drop them off at the animal shelter as strays or call the dog catcher to come get them!

I'll agree with everyone else. Drop them off a few counties away.

One caveat though; they may be microchipped, allowing the owners to find them. If the owners end up getting them back, I would be VERY quick to SSS.

Train them not to kill your chickens, and then take them home. I know many dogs, including one of my own, who were trained to stop killing chickens by having a dead chicken tied about his neck with a piece of rope. The dogs absolutely hate having a dead thing attached to them and they freak out. It only has to be done once for one full day and they'll never touch a chicken again... at least not one of yours if you're the one that ties it to them.

Then again, this may not be a practical thing to do if you don't have an area to pen the dogs in while they are "being trained". You certainly wouldn't want them to run home with chickens tied about their necks, now would you?

Seriously, the animal shelter a few counties away sounds like a winner. I'd tell them the truth, pay the couple dollars to leave them and go see my sis.
