Wyandotte thread anyone??

They've been on layer pellets since 19 weeks. No egg squats. Hope I don't have a bunch of roosters, though I think they'd be crowing by now. Combs don't look red and fully developed either. Just wondered if Wyandottes typically are older before laying.

Post some pics in the "what breed or gender is this?" forum to see if you have any roosters. You might have some, but probably not all. Good luck! (We would love to see pics, too!)

This was a couple days ago, right before they pecked up some lilly of the valley berries. They are still fine!

We have 2! Victoria is the golden laced and P.L or princess lay-a is the silver laced. Here they are at 4 weeks. They are 5 weeks now and just moved to their coop Monday.

I would also like to know at what age Wyandottes start laying eggs. I hatched 7 standard Wyandottes earlier this year for a customer, 5 are pullets and every time I meet him he is asking me "When will they start laying eggs?" That's a new breed for him too.. (I have none).

No. I’m only working with English Orpingtons in a variety of colors. Those Blue-laced Red Wyandotte’s were obtained from McKinney and Govero before they liquidated all their stock. I believe the Foley line is currently one of the best if you’re looking for quality Blue-laced Reds.
