Yes, I know thankfully there is 19 of themUnless you get yourself some females, I doubt that you will breed much from them, as I see a lot of males...

I guess it depends on personal preference. The SOP usually calls for a darker blue (I don’t know specifically about wyandottes, though) but the one on the left has a MUCH better red coloration. The one on the right is closer to blue laced gold than red.Oh really...
So should I be aiming for the colour on the left or the right for Blue Laced Red?
Thanks, yes it will take time and work and all of the males bar 2 will be going. I will post a new thread with pictures in the near future once I know how many males I've got, I'm guessing 12 atm but will most likely be more than that. How many years do you have to work on getting the right type and color? A genetic mix like this will take at least 8 years to stabilize something that breeds pure. If pure breeding is not an issue, then enjoy them the way they are.
From what I see, 2/3 of the males should be culled off the bat because they do not show good Wyandotte type.
I agree that the one on the right looks more blue laced gold. The one on the left has much better red coloring and that’s what you want for BLRW. I’m partial to a medium blue, versus the super dark blues but if you aren’t showing having an array of shades isn’t so badI guess it depends on personal preference.
