My birds lay shades of light brown. I've never had any lay darker than that, even new layers.

Miss Prissy, with the new boys in the pen, I'm anticipating on having plenty of eggs again this spring. I hope to hatch myself out some first so I can at least have some of my own before I start selling again. I made that mistake last year and didn't end up with hardly any babies before I discovered my old roo wasn't fertile anymore.

wierd question....i know the wyandottes come in many colors, silver laced, golden laced, etc. etc. same with the cochin bantams....i am wondering what would happen if i (not saying i will....but "what if") threw every color of wyandotte or cochin bantam together? would their colors still come out right? or do you have to breed the same colors together?
