Wyoming Unite!!!!

It started snowing early last evening and it's still coming down. Forecast calls for it to continue alllllllll day and into the night.

It's hard to tell how much accumulates when it blows and drifts everywhere.

I have an area that is protected from the wind in all but one direction. The wind rarely comes from that direction so it gives me a good place to measure snow depth.

At midnight I was up to 7 1/4" and just measured an additional 3" minutes ago for a total of 10 1/4". It is still snowing, the wind is still coming out of the northeast and the temperature is holding steady at -2°F.

I had a dentist appointment this morning but fortunately I got a call before I left canceling my appointment. I have some things I need to pick up in town but its not going to happen today.

Everybody stay safe and warm.

Glad you didn't have to get out for the dental appointment. Today is a good day to just sit tight.

I just got off the phone with my brother. He's been up north trying to catch a glimpse of the northern lights and is now driving from Sheridan to Cheyenne. He said the roads are slippery and a mess but he's taking it slow.

Please let us know if your chicks arrive safely. It's -13 here in Buffalo this morning. :hmm

Only -20°F here this morning. For the time being the snow has stopped after 15 3/8". It has been the heaviest snowfall of the winter so far.

The sun is trying to shine this morning and temporarily the wind has also stopped. The -20° feels lots warmer than yesterday's +2° when the wind was blowing very hard.

Hoping to start collecting eggs for hatching this week but since all the birds are confined the hens are being very stingy with their eggs! :barnie
I started collecting on the 15th. Some of the hens are laying very well and some are not.

The wind stopped for a while but has come back up and is now blowing from the west. The sun is shining and the temperature is rapidly rising due to the west wind. It is already -4°F now but feels much colder than when it was -20°F with no wind.
