It was dark here this morning. There was a sprinkle of rain drops and now it is sunny but the temperature has dropped to 45°F from a high of 52°F. Of course the wind is still blowing.

Thank you all for your responses. After reading the advice it does seem that either the eggs dropped a little too hard or got stepped on.

Ok, got these 2 RIR from a friend. I'm thinking one is a roo what do you think?
Do you know how old they are Twinmom?

the friend I got them from said they were hatched in september 2018
The bigger one has greenish tail feathers and a much larger comb and wattles than the other. I will try to get better pictures but they do not like to be still.

Look at the saddle feathers to see if they are pointy or rounded. Pointy = cockerel, rounded = pullet.
If you can, use a flash and it will freeze them in place in the photo and eliminate the motion blur as long as it is motion blur and not camera movement blur. If a flash is not available, take the photos in a brightly lit area so that a faster shutter speed can be used.
Also back away far enough that you can get the whole chicken in the photo.
