Debby it's nice to meet you. We've been here in Laramie since October. Before that we lived in Cheyenne for 5 years. I know Murdoch's and Bomgaars are selling chicks the end of the month and in March. Planning to get a few more baby chicks to add to our flock as soon as they do.
I have a cousin in Laramie and other family in Cheyenne...next time I go down I-80 I'll wave to you!
Nice to meet you, Sara. Boy, you and Debby are practically neighbors!! I'm waaaayyy up here in the northwest, just about 6 miles from the Montana border - close enough to my family in South Dakota to drive out for a few days but far enough that they'd better call and check first before they leave home!
Just about any chickens do well here - I have such a mixed flock I can't even keep them all straight anymore. I have everything from Tank, the Behemoth Light Brahma, to Smudge, the teeny little Silkie. I have learned the the Brahmas don't do as well in the heat and have to be watched pretty closely.
Looks like you got pointed in the right direction as far as the quail go..... (You know, I read that sentence over twice and I still get a mental image of @R2elk with his pointer finger extended in the direction of a flock of quail in the distance)
Keep dry, everyone...I know the flooding is getting pretty doggone bad up here.
No flooding that I've heard of around us Blooie. At least not yet, the river is rising as might be expected.
You stay high and dry, ok?
