It's Wyoming, what did you expect? I remember -27°F in the middle of November one year. Just finally had the dead elm that one caused, blow down. Fortunately it landed the only place it could that didn't cause damage to other things.

We are up here in the Banana Belt, so we don’t get winter as bad as you do further south of us. But I think I know the November you are talking about. October 31 the kids were trick-or-treating in their costumes with no coats, gloves, mittens and scarves covering them up. A little less than 48 hours later it was -17 and dropping, and it stayed super cold for a few weeks. That was in 2014, the year little Scout froze his feet at the waterer. We lost our reliable apricot tree that year. It just never recovered.
