Ya ever see something an just think..... WHY!

"mom, what are you watching?"

"I think it might be some of that fuzzy new math I heard about years ago."

square ft= lengthxwidth still doesn't it? Or did I miss a memo somewhere?

I realize this person put alot of hard carpentry work into this project with all the lag bolts, angles and things. But I too wonder if they had ever kept chickens. If they had ever had rainfall with winds that make the rain blow sideways or snow into the top of the coop (flat roof with open slats). Where to put food and water. Nowhere to reduce drafts and still maintain proper ventilation.... hmmmm.....

How much is this going for?

I like the math, and defending it in the comments section. Someone was asleep during that whole differentiating-between-cubic-feet-and-square-feet part of jr high math.

Edited: He deleted the comment defending his bad math and is now advertising it as 64 cubic feet. It's a lovely kind of over-engineered post-modern design for someplace that has no rain. The rain here in the winter is often horizontal, and I'm picturing some wet cold girls!

If I were in the area I would bid on it and use it as a commenter suggested as a brooder/quarantine type area or I'd house a few silkies in there (house only, they would have a large run area too) but alas I'm too far away. I do think it looks kinda weird, but I'd pay $20.50 for it. But I would also use different music, I have a headache...

Looks to me like it is 768 square feet... since this guy seems to think that he can apply 3 dimensional measurements in 2 dimensions, why not slice each of his 64 'square feet' an inch thick? And, now we can keep 200 chickens in it

I also had to ask myself WHY?

Pay attention to the part that says "reserve not met". That means he has set a minimum price, and the bidding has not reached that yet. Trust me, he's not selling that for $20.50!

Sorry but I don't see the problem Doesn't look to me that it is any worse that a lot of others I see here. Better than many. Video is a bit corney with the music but if you are a buyer on Ebay it gives you a better idea of what you are getting that a couple of dark grainy photos. At least the guy is letting people see what they are getting. Yeah he mucked up the math but you know 4x4 is 16 sq feet of floor space. But if you have two or three hens what exactly is wrong? It is attractive, well built and would fit nicely in a small run. It has nesting boxes with easy access from the back, is well ventilated, has a roof above it. Looks to me like he has some sort of linoleum or vinyl on the floor and the roost board but lots of people here have talked about doing that---I'm planning that in my new coop. And the floor isn't going to be slick if you have litter on it. I'm not sure about the roof design but I think it is a well made coop that certainly is worth setting a reserve if yo sell it on Ebay. Maybe I'm missing something. Honestly except for the fact hat he said square instead of cubic feet and misses some math don't see the isses. Wind/rain depends on where you set it and here in East Tennessee it is hot a lot more than it is cold. Too small for my needs but I home mine turns out looking half that good!
