It's a lovely coop built by someone who knows carpentry. It's just WAY over done in my opinion. The number of lag bolts and did you notice those metal brackets holding the corners together. Whoa... I would probably get inside that coop if there was a cat. 5 hurricane coming. I'm sure it would old together.

Unless you have chickens who swing sledge hammers...

I do admire the craftsmanship and many of the details. It is a bit overbuilt. And coming someone that is just recovering from OCCBD. (Obsessive Compulsive Coop Building Disorder)...that's saying something.

I still just want to know why? Not meaning to be rude. Was it all about looks? If not then what was the thought proses an how does each thing that makes it different than normal make it better. If it was just to be different then thats fine too. Like I said sometimes ya just want to ask why?

I just looked at it and thought it was a very nice coop. I think the guy did wonderful. It would be great for the urban chicken rancher with 3 or 4 chickens, or for some little Silkies. Very cute, and nicely done.

If you look at the rest of his Youtube videos looks like they are all of kids playing in a band. Assuming thebuilder is the dad but if it was the 14 or 15 year old kid learning to play base who built this I am TOTALLY impressed!!

The (left) hand in the video appeared to have on a wedding ring. (and hairy arms!)​

The only thing I took issue with is that he said his coop would hold 8-10 chickens, while I personally think it would be best for about 4 chickens. I have seen this kind of overestimating a lot though - BYC members are very good to their chickens and ask for a minimum of 4 ft. per chicken in the coop & 10 ft. per chicken in the run, but if you look online there are a lot of places that say to give a chicken 2 sf in the coop -- I disagree with the 2 sf, but this person may have gotten his info from a different source than we did and wasn't trying to mislead anyone. He's now stating that the coop is 16 sf and that the new owner can decide how many chickens it can hold. I hope he doesn't get any more mean e-mails.

I saw. That's why I think it was Dad---who seems to be as proud of his kids music as he is of his chicken coop.

I'm still tihking about clear roofing. Plans I'm working on would have a storage/work room and a coop area divided by an inner wall. I wonder about clear over the work room (to give lots more light) with tin over the coop area....but then that might look kinda weird and have people asking why!
