Yaaaahooooo! I have a pip! Day 20, Delaware Blue Hens x 7! YIPEEEEE!

RH, those are adorable chicks!

When you said Duck House earlier, my coastal brain read Dock House. Not quite the same thing, eh?

I am getting worried- the membranes seem to be sticking to the 2 zipped chicks? Any ideas? Not quite 24 hours, I am sitting on my hands- picture me typing while doing that!

I walked away for an hour, so I wouldn't be tempted to mess with them. Made some yummy BLOAT sandwiches, now I need a nap! Not going to happen, though.

Before you ask- Bacon, lettuce, Vidalia onion, avocado and red, ripe tomato, on whole wheat toast. With pretzels on the side. BLOAT.

Well, I am getting nervous, so I posted a thread in the Emergencies etc. thread. Hopefully, someone has run into this dry membrane problem before and can help!

If I boost the humidity, I'm afraid of drowning the rest in the eggs. I am hoping someone will say I can use a warm, damp paper towel to moisten the membrane, get it moving and pop them back in the bator.

Geez, I should have posted that in the ER thread! Duh!

Yes, I think I'm going to let them get warm and sleepy, then give it a shot. The others should be fine if I am quick with these two.

BTW Bec, one is probably a splash, the other looks blue!

Sheesh, my typing!

The yellowish ones will be splash, and then of course you already know what the blues look like!

Keep me posted, I will be checking in often!

It's just that they look like hermit crabs, towing the shell!
