At first I was confused about what you guys were talking about when you said the hens were squatting, so laying was near.
Not confused anymore! Squatting is when the hen lowers herself and spreads her wings a bit... like an invitation to the rooster? Prissy has been doing it for a week now, for me, but not rooster. When I used my foot this morning to shoo her back into the run, she squatted instead of walking inside. The big games are doing it now too, once for me from the small one, both to the rooster. Jibbers didn't do anything about it though. One hen, he had flown close to her and acted all tough-guy like and she squatted instead of the normal treatment of pecking him.
Prissy has alos gone red in the comb finally. The bigger ones haven't. But here soon I should be getting 2 eggs, or even 3 or 4!! Chipmunk won't be the only one using the nests!
