It seemed to be having a bit ouf trouble with a piece of shell... i helped break a bit off and let it do the rest. Its breathing and chirping LOUDLY. Hope it hatches tonight or tomorrow morning

He seems to be stuck in membrane!!!! hes not even trying to break the shell cuz he didnt crack it open normally... he popped of a huge chunk on the front of the shell, not around. Should i help 'im out? i mean s/he isn't doing anything but breathing (thank God) and chirping. heres a pic

The chick is out! But it's stuck in some sort of fetal position. I tried to help it on its feet but it just went back to fetal position. What should i do?

Hi there

Hopefully nothing to worry about he's just shattered from the hatching and needs a rest and a dry out. Keep a close eye on him, really sorry but at that age I dont really think there is much you can do if there is something wrong with him.

I saw your pictures of him hatching, I'm all for helping if they have been at it for a while but def stop if you see blood when removing pieces of the membrane. Blood means that they aren't ready to hatch just yet.

Hi

Thats quite a lot of blood around the egg, did you help it hatch?

They do come out of the egg completely knackered and need some recovery time. Also seeing as he is the first he wont have the cheeping of other chicks to react to.
