YEA long wait over got first egg

Went out this morning to let my girls out and one was in the nesting box. Had a feeling last night by the way she was acting we were gonna get our first egg today. Well i started my morning ritual of feeding watering etc looking in on her occasionally . Then went back over to the coop, chicken gone and in the box

This is a good size egg for first timer here it is next to store bought egg

Hubby came in a little bit ago another in the nesting box. A liitle bit later another egg! Im so eggsited.

That's just what you should do with the early eggs. Pullet eggs are usually considered too small for hatching. They are great for eating and baking, though. A small egg is my fave for when a recipe needs half an egg!
