I was at a friend's Halloween party on Friday night. They had about 6 baby chicks (I could tell they were barred rocks and both he and I were surprised I knew the breed name by the look of the chicks).

Well, I asked where he got chicks and he said the feed store (Alamo Feed for those in the Bay Area). He said they have chicks almost all year long!?!?

I seriously hope he isn't right, or I'm going to have a major problem keeping away from there!!!

Step away from the Feed Store !

You would be in trouble around here! All our feed stores have chicks year round. Why do you think I stay away??? Not the my fiance is any better. He is whole reason we have 6 8week olds already.

Hi Deb! I'm popping in for a few minutes. You said the feed stores have chicks out here. I may have a big enough cage for 2 or 3 over the winter until I get their coop going. Could you email me a list, please. Thanks.

Yep, Alamo has em' year round, I asked. My DH asked me to go there to pick up a bale of hay for a porch decoration. I asked him if he was crazy!?! Don't you know WHAT they have there honey?? I just don't know that I could control myself.
