Sliced in rounds, dredged in flour/salt/pepper and fried in a little butter. HEAVEN, DOOD!

PS add a little cornmeal to the dredging mix and it tastes like buttered popcorn!

I love to slice them, saute them butter with some onions and garlic, and then at the last minute deglaze the pan with a little bit of balsamic vinegar and fresh cracked pepper and salt to taste. Be sure not to saute them into smush! Enjoy!

ME TOO! I love zucchini and yellow squash cooked this way together, but I use olive oil instead of butter. I love the way the squash browns and gets crunchy.

I think I accidently discover a way to protect your tomatoes from the chickens. I planted mine on 6' tposts across the center of the garden with marigolds in a row in front of them. Some pumpkins volunteered around them. They were very prickly! the chickens never touched a single tomato! They ate a few bean blossoms, until I chased them away a few times.

Also, leave the top off the pan! or they'll be mush. I put green onions or chives in at the end.

I found an awsome squash pickle recipe this year! My 22 yr old son says he no longer thinks cucumbers are worthy of pickling since he tried these.

I'll share it if anyone wants..

well I made soup last night out of the squash...
2 large squash, baked in oven for 15 min (butter salt and pepper)
chicken stock
1 large carrot
1/2 onion
poultry seasoning
boiled it all together till carrots got tender
put in blender...blended till it was smooth
back into pan, heat almost to boil
added cream and a little corn starch
served it topped with green onion, sauted mushrooms, and sour cream.

I didnt think anyone would eat it but me.
I only got one small bowl out of a whole pot. DH ate the rest!
