Yellow mucus like poop, not acting like herself. HELP.

OH darn, darn, darn!!! Sorry you lost her. Make sure you keep up with the Corid with the rest of your guys, Coccidia is a killer. You have to keep on your toes and watch for signs. Good luck, everyone else should be ok if you give your Corid to them.

I couldn't find corid when I was frantically looking for chicken meds. I did find durmaycin 10 though. Is that okay for em?

For coccidiosis you need Corid or Amprol, liquid or powder and they are usually found in the cattle section of stores lIke TSC. If they don't have it, you could try Sulmet, but it is only effective against two of the nine coccidia that chickens get. Find a TSC ad get the Corid.

If it is in the cattle section, how do I dose my girls?

Get the 20% powder and mix it with water--1/2tsp per Gallon for 5 days and the 1/4 tsp per gallon for another 5 days.

The second half dose treatment helps them build resistance. Mix a fresh batch each day.

9.6% liquid would be 9.5ml (912 mg) per US gallon.
20% powder would be 4.5 grams (900 mg) per US gallon, which I think is 1.5 teaspoons. The powder dose is *not* 1/2 teaspoon like many think it is.

I have dosing links that I'll post when I get on the real computer, lol.

No offense intended to anyone, really, but the dose for severe outbreaks is ~900mg per gallon, moderate outbreaks ~450mg per gallon and "post treatment" dose is ~225mg per gallon.

I haven't bought either yet. I'm going to go buy some after work and immediately go home and does my girls. None are showing symptoms, but I'm not taking any chances. I have 6 ladies left.
