If you kill the fox another will take over the territory and likely will be even more vicious. A fox in the next field kille all our hens but did not come back.

Maybe in Ireland, but I haven't had any problems with any fox since. I have seen them on my games cameras but they stay away from the coops and birds. Probably the reason your fox didn't come back is because it killed all of your birds. I think the electric wires around my coops and pens deter them. I have seen some places in the past where something has attempted to dig under the fence but aborted the attempts probably because it made contact with the hot wires.
