yesterday every coop was a disaster

Oh my, I had days like that with horses, not that it matters what species gets itself in a knot.
It's enough to deal with the blizzard, which is heading here. I find that chickens are quite intelligent but prone to more daily misadventure than the average mammal. It's so easy for them to get stuck or to venture into something that didn't seem dangerous to us. Someone posted about one of their peacocks out in this, high in a tree??? Yeesh. We had a wild starling crammed behind a suet holder in such a way I thought we'd have to rescue him, but he eventually got out. My hens are out today in anticipation of not being out tomorrow. It's cold and maybe they'll not spend much time in the run but they had the choice, right? I figured when 6 of them pecked the pop door at once that I had better comply. They are 8really something*, so I hope everything works out for you and that you can hunker down until the storm passes. Merry Christma, by the way, even if it doesn't yet feel like it!

If you have any baby onesys or tops laying around you can put them on them for extra warmth... I am having issues with my waterers too... those things are a pain!

Your chick has cocci. Get some Corid from the feed store, for it's water. Add 9.5 ml to a gallon of water. Give the water to the birds. Treat all the birds for 5 days & they should be ok.

yes nd put powdered milk in their feed right away as well this will help with the bleeding. But you need to treat Corrid or Amprol asap in water. First State Vet Supply Has Amprol in liquid for smaller flocks. It is very easy to measure that way. He can ship express if needed.
