I understand they will always lay the same color, but the intensity of the color may vary a little based on molting, maybe food, I'm not sure what else might affect the shade. I have a girl that lays an olive green, three others lay blue, another one lays light green, and just Sweetie that lays pink. Two more are not laying, yet. I bought them all as little fuzzy butts last spring and was surprised at the variety of colors.
Sweetie is the second one from the right. I have three hens similar in color to the one on the right, and they lay the blue eggs. They aren't related, and I don't know if similarly colored feather patterns has anything to do with the genetics involving the color of the eggs.
