YO GEORGIANS! :)

So what is the coop itself made out of? Mine have a 4 x 8 plywood coop with a tin roof. Yeah a bear or large man could break through the walls using sheer force but other than that the chicken door is latched and they are safe.
Right now? Or the one I plan to build?
The one I plan to build will be either 4x4's, about 8 feet long, which I will bury 2 feet in the ground and make the rest about 6 feet tall with chicken wire on all sides and a tarp on the top.

The one they are in now is a screen arbor that I bought online for $80. It's just like a tent with fiberglass poles, but all four sides are just screens.

No sure I would put wood in the ground like that. The wood will rot in just a year or two.

Where was that meme that said "I don't always experience four seasons in two days..."?

Because this is a good example!

From 84 to 35 in just two days....

Just wondering... I cracked open an egg the other day and it had black speckles in the eggwhite, maybe looked like 6 or 7 large grains of dirt. I haven't had a lot of time to read up on it but the one I did read said probably bacteria? I didn't use it, but should I be worried about the other ones? Is there anything to do to treat it?

Ummm. I had one this morning with that stuff on the yolk. I et it. I'll let you know if I die.

Huh. Haven't run into this with my own eggs yet; I'm following this situation closely. So, carcar... how are you feeling this evening?

The one was successful and it appears we have a new little girl. The other two never pipped so we got 1 bird out of the 5 eggs.

Unfortunately, the little girl gosling I picked up Monday died suddenly. No apparent symptoms, just on her back and then dead a few minutes later. Her brother is still doing ok though.

Aw nuts :(. I'm sorry; I know how much you guys really wanted those geese. So you've got one pair out of all of that? You should google synonyms for "lucky" to name them.
*Just FYI, if I ever have geese (or just one lone goose), the head of the flock will be called "Silly".

So much excitement makes a kid sleepy.

I'm a foster grandma :). I can't wait to introduce her to the farm in a few weeks when the assistant zookeeper is home for the summer!
