Nice, slow steady rain. Much better! Hope all you S Georgians are ok!! Looks like the worst of it is down there.

It's storming perty good here in Walton country ok so last night I put my eggs down for lock down and them my bater went crazy I can't get the temp back up where it needs to be I'm afraid I'm going to lose all my eggs

What is the temp at?

I just found out this afternoon that I left the lid off of one of my incubators ALL NIGHT last night, plus a good part of the morning. I think I was planning to move eggs into there from a different incubator, and chose not to - without remembering that the lid was off!

But amazingly, all of the eggs in it are okay. They're still showing good blood vessels and movement, and the incubator is NOW back where it should be.

Try putting a thick blanket over it, like a comforter. Either leave a tiny hole where you can see the thermometer inside, or take it off after an hour and see what the thermometer reads.

It is also a good thing to lower the temperature at lockdown just a tad anyway. Better too low than too high. But, you would still want it around 98 or so.

Do any of you guys out there in the north or northeast have any pure silkies? I don't care what color or if they are show quality, as long as they are healthy and don't cost me too much. I want some silkie chicks to raise so I can have some nice broodies to hatch my others eggs next spring.

I also have another trio that is about 3 weeks old, and 15 CCL eggs that went into lockdown today. Be tempted... be verrry tempted.
